OPLAN TYPHOON ONDOY MISSION REPORT
Sept 29, 2009
Dear SFC,
Thank you for being channels of blessing for this endeavor to bring relief goods for the flood victims. Today, we have received the Total amount of 4,000 php from Ptr. Mel and Ptr. Byeon, 900 from staff offering, 1,046.50 from from J-drive offering remaining (141php J-DRIVE budget) which we spent as follows:
2 boxes of noodles: 990
Market fare: 28
Supermarket total of: 2514.50 including bread, sardines, toothpaste, soap, and 2 boxes of distilled water.
Lunch and dinner- 637php
Additional noodles- 175
Fare summed up to: 582
----------------------------------- ----- > 4,926.50+ (1,020)= 5946.5
In summary we had 80 plastic packs including the 1,020 worth of goods we bought last Monday night.
Some SFC members brought as much as they can, we packed all the grocery items including clothes and towels, BOOK OF HOPE and SFC Bible guide in our packages. 15 packs of which were reserved for SFC members who were affected by the typhoon. We had a prayer meeting at 10am and prepared everything till 1pm then after we had lunch. We initially planned to partner with AGS and/or Mission Ministries Philippines but they were busy deploying relief goods to the affected areas so they were not able to get ours in the clubhouse. Teacher Che Che enjoined us and we also planned to help packing goods at the GMA warehouse but even in there some SFC members are already helping. Just when many people came in to volunteer, going back to clubhouse was the only choice.
We had to deliver the goods as soon as possible so I represent SFC to FAITHWORKS Church in San Mateo, A nearby place where there were many victims of the calamity. We head on riding a jeepney till Ever Gotesco Mall there were 14 of us, and begged a ride to San Mateo, but we only got a jeep halfway to the place, the rest is a walking marathon going to that Church, along the way we were humbled to see the tragic situation, people were left homeless, children begging, remains of the flood are along the road. There was heavy traffic all these hardship, we consider nothing to compare with their pain.
Most were holding the tears but one SFCionary couldn't help but cry along the road because of the scenes which really moved our hearts. We kept on encouraging one another and our arrival in the Church gave a sigh of relief and thankfulness. The Pastors and youth members gladly welcomes us and told us we are very timely to arrive in there, because tomorrow they will have a feeding mission with the 700 Club, a Christian Broadcasting Network and together with that they will distribute our goods and bring people to saving faith in Christ. Let us continue to pray for this endeavor, volunteers can join that feeding mission and distribution of goods tomorrow at 7:30am.
To God who remembers us and knows our good deeds, may it be all pleasing to Him, that when He tests our work with fire, it will turn to gold and not to dust.
In all these we've done nothing... All to Jesus!
To SFCnians: BLESSINGS!!!
WE ARE STILL OPEN FOR DONATIONS like canned goods, bottled drinking water, cookies, towels, clean clothes or cash to SFC clubhouse for the San Mateo; Montalban, Tondo Areas...
In Christ,
